Lauren Littlefield, MSW, LICSW - Director of Mental Health

Lauren serves as the Director of Mental Health and Treasurer for the Veterans Next Step Foundation, blending financial expertise with a robust background in mental health to uplift our local Veterans. With an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Curry College and a Master’s Degree from the Boston University School of Social Work, Lauren is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts. With previous hands-on experience at the VA in Brockton’s inpatient psychiatric unit, she brings deep insight into Veteran mental health challenges and suicide awareness. As the organization’s Treasurer, she ensures financial transparency, managing budgets to support Veterans’ needs, while as Director of Mental Health, she leads efforts to break stigma through innovative programs.

Lauren runs Littlefield Wellness LLC, her own private practice in Halifax, where she provides compassionate psychotherapy to a diverse population with various needs. Additionally, she is an on-call crisis provider with Beth Israel Lahey Health, providing critical support for people from all walks of life during some of their most challenging times. At Veterans Next Step, she collaborates with her extensive network of mental health professionals to offer workshops on mental health and suicide awareness, guiding Veterans to appropriate care. Lauren shares the foundation’s vision to expand across Massachusetts and the nation.

Raised in West Plymouth, Lauren enjoys reading, gardening, and staying fit, and she remains an active volunteer at the local elementary school, strengthening her community ties.
